Roxanne Potvin: I Thought I'd Miss You

Roxanne Potvin - "I Thought I'd Miss You" (Independent): It has been a full decade since this Montreal-based singer/songwriter released her Juno-nominated Colin Linden-produced album The Way It Feels, and five years since her last album, Play. She now has a brand new platter, For Dreaming, set for release on Friday. Potvin has always freely moved between genres, and for the new album she cites the likes of Bahamas and Kurt Vile as inspirations. We were immediately taken with this vibrant focus track, one already faring well at CBC Radio 2, and we believe this formidable talent deserves more attention.

She'll get more of that soon as part of the illustrious Black Hen Traveling Roadshow Revue, also featuring Steve Dawson, Alvin Youngblood Hart and Russell de Carle. Their national tour launches March 29, and she follows that with headline gigs and shows with Erin Costelo in Ontario from mid-April.
