The Tenors Team Up With Cirque du Soleil
LAS VEGAS: Canadian vocal group The Tenors has performed everywhere from the White House to the Vatican and now will be teaming up with Cirque du Soleil for the fifth anniversary of One Night for One Drop, a single-night experience supporting safe water access programs worldwide.
To be staged at New York-New York Hotel & Casino's at Zumanity Theatre in Las Vegas, the fund-raiser will feature a performance by the award-winning trio with the world-renowned Cirque artists.
“It is an honour and a thrill to be working with One Drop in such a creative way,” The Tenors said in a statement on Wednesday. “The incredible imaginations of everyone involved are absolutely inspiring, and we’re looking forward to performing legendary rock music for this spectacular show.”
Krista Monson, director of creation for the show, added: “With their unique style, unforgettable charm and outstanding vocal talent, we’re incredibly thankful to have them on board. Not only will they bring their sublime artistry and talent to the show, but the directors have given The Tenors roles that propel the story to add yet another level of meaning and powerful significance to their performance. With the added creativity of The Tenors, the result will be truly momentous.”
Presented by MGM Resorts International, One Night for One Drop 2017 will focus on the concept of time, drawing inspiration from one pivotal phrase: ‘We are the first generation to feel the impact of climate change and the last generation to do something about it.’
Centering around the idea that time is running out for humanity to right its wrongs, the show will build on this concept through the journey of an ill-tempered circus Ringmaster and his loyal assistant.
Individual, tax-deductible VIP tickets, which include the post-show extravaganza complete with live entertainment, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and festivities, are available for US$1,500, with show-only tickets starting at $100. All proceeds will benefit One Drop’s global water initiatives, along with innovative educational programming in Nevada through a partnership with the Springs Preserve.
