Coleman Hell: Devotion

Coleman Hell - "Devotion" (604 Records): At the Juno Awards nominations press event recently, Coleman Hell's hit album Summerland earned a nomination in the prestigious category of Pop Album of the Year. Hell told FYI I was first nominated at the Junos for Breakthrough Artist last time, and now I've broken through!"

That he has, and this most recent single from that album is helping sustain momentum.

The song is currently climbing at radio and is Top 30 CHR and Top 20 HAC, and Hell this week put out a self-directed video for the track.

The catchy song is reggae-inflected, with Hell’s vocals adding a little Sting to the tale and horns injected a sunny vibe. In the video, Hell is portrayed as the leader of a cult, but with pretty women, music and dancing on display, there’ nothing sinister about this one.

Hell's career really took off with earlier smash hit, "2 Heads." It is now almost 4x Platinum in Canada and Gold in the US with over 88 million streams on Spotify. Proving that was no fluke, following single "Fireproof" also took off, and it recently hit Platinum status in Canada.

Word is that Hell is currently working on new music. He plays Kinosoo Ridge Snow Resort in Cold Lake, AB, on Feb. 18, and at En Lumiere in Montreal on March 4.
