Arkells will headline the 5th annual Greenbelt Harvest Picnic at Christie Lake Conservation Area in rural Dundas outside of Hamilton, ON on Aug. 29.
This will be a homecoming performance for the band in a year where the quintet has been selling out shows nationwide.
Greenbelt Producer and Founder, Jean-Paul Gauthier, said in making the announcement that “we are extremely excited to have Arkells headline this year’s event.” adding the Hamilton band has won two Junos and three Hamilton Music awards this year on the strength of their best-selling High Noon album.
The Picnic will also feature performances by Bahamas, Iron and Wine, Gordon Lightfoot, Gregory Alan Isakov, Kathleen Edwards, Basia Bulat, Martha Wainwright, Terra Lightfoot and Dinner Belles.
The event serves to celebrate the importance of the Greenbelt, local farmers, art, the outdoors and the eat-local movement. A full day adult pass runs $100 with taxes and youth 11 through 16 get in for $26.
