Bowser & Blue - "Put Your Trust In Justin, The Justin Trudeau Song" (YouTube). The satirical Montreal duo has made a career with smart, funny songs (many represented on Justin Time Records). In September of 2014 they endorsed Justin Trudeau with a song that earned them some success on the Google platform, and then, last month, October 21st, The Washington Post ran the clip, asking the question: "Why did Canada choose for its prime minster a liberal, facial-hair offending, often shirtless and tattooed, strip-teasing pretty boy who is also the son of one of Canada's most famous leaders?"
Instead of trying to explain it from Washington, the newspaper let the Canadian duo share their thoughts. "Things can go very wrong when you try to write funny songs about politics, but this one works," Amber Phillips wrote in the capital city paper. Since the clip hit the mainstream, views on the Google video platform have skyrocketed and now stand just shy of 500,000.
