Record sales may not be what they once were, but this isn't to say the hits aren't selling and the latest Music Canada Platinum and Gold sales certifications list is proof that this is the case.

All told, in the month of January, over 60 titles earned sales certifications, with Adele, Justin Bieber and The Weeknd fronting the pack. Below is a partial list of recordings certified by the trade organization, and you can link click here to see the complete list. Gold certifications for singles and albums represent certified sales of 40K plus, and Platinum equals 80K. Adele's current 25 album, released November 20th, earned Diamond status on January 11th. The Diamond certification is the equivalent of 800,000 sales. Some in the industry suggest this could be the last Diamond seller the industry is likely to see, but never say never is what we say.
