Nominations for the 2017 Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards are now open.
The Awards annually celebrate Industry trailblazers and outstanding professionals. To be considered for the awards, companies are encouraged to submit their nominations online. The deadline for nomination submissions are January 31st, and you can submit nominations here.
The Industry Wide Voting Window Opens on Feb. 26 and runs to March 8. Nominees will be posted on the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards website to be voted on by the industry.

The awards will be held on April 20 at The Grand Ballroom of The Sheraton Centre in Toronto. A portion of the proceeds from awards night will be donated to the Unison Benevolent Fund.
Canadian Music Week (CMW) has also announced that nominations are now open for the Allan Waters Young Broadcaster of the Year Award in Honour of Steve Young. This is the 9th annual award to recognize Canada's outstanding young broadcasters, many of whom have gone on to some big successes since receiving the award. The winning recipient's travel, accommodation and CMW registration will be covered so they can receive this award in person.
Anyone also working in the industry can nominate any worthy broadcaster so long as they meet this criteria.
Candidate must be under the age of 30 as of April 20th, 2017
Must work in the programming department: On-Air, Programming, Promotion, Production or Creative
Must be nominated by another individual working in the radio industry
Must be Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant
Must have made a significant, documented contribution to the community they serve, the radio industry or their craft
Deadlines for entries is January 31st at midnight EST time.
Winners will be notified by March 15th.

CMW is also accepting entries for the Start Up Launch Pad competition, to be held on April 19. This deadline is March 6. This is a pitch competition for new businesses that are based in or connected to the music industry. Info here
