Fontana Now Distributing Partisan, Knitting Factory Records

Fontana North, the distribution division of Cadence Music, has announced a distribution deal with Brooklyn-based label group Partisan Records along with its partnering label Knitting Factory Records.

Partisan is home to Heartless Bastards, Eagulls, and Craig Finn, while Knitting Factory Records has an artist roster including Fela Kuti and The Gipsy Kings.
 
The first release under the new deal will be the March 24 solo record Craig Finn, entitled We All Want The Same Things. Finn is best known as the frontman of acclaimed rock outfit The Hold Steady and he will be playing two back-to-back nights in Toronto at The Danforth Music Hall on February 17 and 18.

Founded in 2007, Partisan is a Brooklyn-based artist-run independent label dedicated to the unique visions of artists whom they work alongside.

CEO and Founder Tim Putnam said in a statement yesterday: "We at Partisan Records and Knitting Factory Records couldn't be more excited to be working with our new partners at Fontana North. Fontana North was founded in 2006 and is based in Toronto. The company is part of the Cadence Music Group and has been honoured six times as the Independent Music Distributor of the Year at the Canadian Music Industry Awards.
