Andy Kim Christmas Benefit Details Announced
(Un)natural Acts star Sean Cullen emcees Andy Kim’s 13th annual Christmas concert that takes place December 6 at Toronto’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre with this year’s proceeds going to the CAMH Gifts of Light charitable program.
The celebrated singer-songwriter, an inductee into both the Canadian Songwriters and Billboard Hit Parade Halls of Fame, as per usual is surrounding himself on stage with an all-star cast of musical friends and performers. Announced so far are Ron Sexsmith, Hawksley Workman, members of the Strumbellas, Michel Pagliaro, Platinum Blonde, Danny Michel, Choir Choir Choir!, Kayla Diamond, and more TBA.
Kim’s annual Christmas concerts to date have raised more than $700,000 for various charitable organizations.
"Lucky 13. As I look back I'm awed by the magic and spirituality of this one idea,” Kim said earlier today in making the announcement. “Ask my fellow Canadian artists to help me help our community. Giving is always the best part of an artists' life & knowing that we've raised over $700,000 through the years makes it all worthwhile."
Past guests have included Nelly Furtado, Sloan, Tom Cochrane, Cowboy Junkies, Barenaked Ladies, The Trews, Feist, Amy Millan, Sam Roberts, Lights, Ron Sexsmith, Alex Lifeson from Rush, Broken Social Scene, James Black & Rick Jackett from Finger Eleven, Serena Ryder, Colin James, Sarah Harmer, Jacksoul, BUCK65, Honeymoon Suite, Arkells, K-os, Tom Wilson, Tomi Swick, Beverley Mahood, and Bobby Bazini.
Live Nation is the promoter. Tickets through Ticketmaster, on sale Oct. 20. Tickets (incl. HST) $25, $40 and $150 VIP (plus service charges). All ages/reserved seating.
