The Kents - "Distant" (Indie): The pride of Lindsay, Ontario, this modern rock band made a positive impression last year with their debut EP, Waking, as shown by Spotify streams around the 1M mark.They return to the EP format with a new five-song collection, Within Waves, released last Friday. It confirms their ability to create hook rich guitar-based pop-rock with a radio-ready feel. Lead singer Warren Frank describes the new EP as "like those classic coming-of-age Breakfast Club-type films.”

This focus track showcases the group's potential. "Distant" features passionate vocals, introspectively probing lyrics, a surging dynamic flow, and crisp production from Derek Hoffman (Brighter Brightest). It takes a few spins to insinuate itself, but it rewards the effort.

The Kents recently appeared on The Strombo Show, and it has just been announced that The Kents will perform in Orillia, ON,  on Nov. 4 for Rogers Hometown Hockey. They also play Call The Office in London (with Ivory Hours) on Oct. 20 and host an EP release party at The Horseshoe in Toronto on Nov. 17.
