Patrick Watson - "Broken" (Secret City): It has been a while since Patrick Watson's last album, 2015's much-heralded Love Songs for Robots. His fans will be cheered by the release of this new song and video, with Watson explaining in a label press release that "Broken" "is a song I just felt like sharing before the next record. Dedicated to the storms we went through."

Recorded at Studio PM in Montreal last month, the song has a shimmering edge that one that gets under your skin like a Montreal winter night. He's taken an understated vocal approach that suits the sparse art-rock atmospherics that gradually swells in intensity as the song progresses.

Watson won the Polaris Music Prize in 2007 for his second album, Close to Paradise, and has released five albums in total. He recently participated in the Leonard Cohen tribute concert, Tower of Songs, in Montreal. He and his band are currently recording the next album set to be out sometime in 2018.
