Meghan Patrick and the James Barker Band took top honours at the Country Music Association of Ontario’s Awards gala Sunday at London, ON’s Centennial Hall.

Meghan performing at one of the CMAO showcases this past weekend in London, ON.

 

Patrick also took home the Fan’s Choice award, female artist and music video of the year for her album (and single) entitled Country Music Made Me Do It.

Matching her was the James Barker Band who won for album, Game On, single for “Chills” and tied with Tim Hicks for the Compass Award.

The show, attended by about 1,000 industry people and country music fans, featured performances by rising star award winner Andrew Hyatt, Dan Davidson, Jason Blaine, River Town Saints, The Reklaws, Patrick, (Impact Award winner) Michelle Wright, Tebey, Hicks, Cold Creek County and Western Swing Authority.

Chance the Rapper Announces ‘Star Line’ Mixtape

The Chicago rapper is looking to make a comeback.

Chance the Rapper is making his long-awaited comeback.

The Chicago MC has announced a new mixtape entitled Star Lineinspired by his trip to Ghana and Marcus Garvey’s Black Star Line — a short-lived shipping and transportation endeavor meant to transport goods, services and African-American tourists to and from Africa. Chance posted a trailer recently of him in Ghana and clips of him in various studios working on new music. The clip features fellow Save Money member Vic Mensa, as well as Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, T-Pain, Jazze Pha, Jermaine Dupri and DJ Premier, all helping him put this new era together.
