The Music Canada-sponsored Album and International Album now fall within the same submission period and eligibility dates as regular categories.
APTN-sponsored Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year has been changed to Indigenous Artist or Group of the year. Eligible individuals must be Inuit, First Nation or Métis and eligible groups must have at least 50% of members be Inuit, First Nation or Métis.
The Apple-sponsored Artist of the Year and FACTOR-sponsored Breakthrough Artist of the Year will now be determined by the following weighting: 50% consumption (sales/streams), 25% Academy Delegate vote, 15% social data and 10% radio audience.
The SiriusXM-sponsored Canada Comedy Album has Just for Laughs has, for the first time, providing a subsidy to cover the cost of submission fees in the category.
