'Unsinkable Youth' In Crisis Special Airs At 1 PM Today

CTV and YouTube are broadcasting a one-hour, 1 pm special this afternoon entitled Unsinkable Youth, hosted by former Olympic rowing medalist, Walk of Famer and Unsinkable founder Silken Laumann and "Never Have I Ever" star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, with pledgers support going to Kids Help Phone.


Laumann founded Unsinkable, a non-profit organization that aims “to connect and empower Canadians to achieve better mental, physical and spiritual health.”

The 1 pm special features musicians, performers, and athletes that include Johnny Orlando, Hailey Wickenheiser, Jacob Tremblay, Seth Rogen, Alessia Cara, The Reklaws, Tessa Virtue, Wali Shah, Lauren Orlando, Lennon Stella and others.

Kids help phone stats show that call-ins have more than doubled during the pandemic crisis and the service provides between five and 10 rescues for people in danger of suicide daily.

Jade Eagleson, The Reklaws Lead CMAOntario Nominations in 2024

The Country Music Association of Ontario has announced the nominations for its 12th annual CMAOntario Awards, with Jade Eagleson racking up five nominations. The awards will be presented on June 2 at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga.

Jade Eagleson is poised to win big at the CMAOntario Awards, presented by the Country Music Association of Ontario.

The "Rodeo Queen" singer picked up five awards nominations today, including Single of the Year, Album/EP of the Year, and Male Artist of the Year — the most nominations of any artist. Eagleson is followed by sibling duo The Reklaws, rising artists Josh Ross and Karli June, and mainstay Meghan Patrick, who all have four nominations each.
