Doug Putman, the youthful Canadian entrepreneur who resurrected Sunrise Records and Tapes, HMV in the UK, and the U.S.-based FYE (For Your Entertainment), had his eye on David’s Tea, the ubiquitous high-end tea shop that had more than 400 locations across the country.


Like Sunrise, HMV and FYE, David’s Tea declared bankruptcy in the summer, shuttering 166 locations in Canada and 42 in the U.S., while maintaining its online business.

On Oct. 28, Putman announced that Sunrise had taken over the leases of those shops and will be re-opening under the name T. Kettle in early November. – David Nickle at Metroland Media Toronto has the story.

Cudder was slated to hit the road in June on a tour that included three big Canadian dates.

Kid Cudi is canceling his upcoming Insano World Tour {which included stops in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal) due to an injury suffered while performing at Coachella over the weekend.

Cudi relayed the news to his fans in a heartfelt note on Wednesday (April 24), in which he revealed that he actually broke his calcaneus — the bone that forms at the heel — in the stage fall.
