The FYI News Bulletin: Sept. 02, 2021

OMG! Is that Doug in a barrel going over the Falls? Seems so, if one is to believe a family post on FB a summery month or so back in time. The late, great Mid-Knights' bassist had an ear for a song and an eye for talent, and we still mourn his passing and especially those crazy Python silly faces he loved to sport in serious times. Ah, but those were the days. As the saying goes, there's a lot of pot under the pipe between then and now, so let's all have a smile and wish him well.

– George Stroumboulopoulos and Drake’s exclusive engineer Noel Cadastre are inducted into the Mississauga Music Hall of Fame on Sept. 12 at Memorial Park in Port Credit as part of this year’s Tim Horton’s Southside Shuffle Blues & Jazz Fest.

Established in 2012 by former musician turned City councillor Jim Tovery, the MMWF honours those who have made a significant contribution to the world of music. Previous inductees include Oscar Peterson, Gil Moore and Rik Emmett ofTriumph, Ronnie Hawkins, Tommy Hunter, Denny Doherty of the Mamas and Papas, Jeff Healey, Phil X of Bon Jovi, and Liberty Silver. Maybe one of these days the honour will go to successful entrepreneur, artist manager, car enthusiast and dockside champ Cliff Hunt who has quietly played a big hand in building this worthy celeb cache booster to its present state.
