Goodwill and good fun have resulted in the Unison Fund raising more than $100,000 with its annual Charity Golf “Almost” Classic.
All in, the 7th annual has raised $115,000 in its 7th annual that goes to Canada’s music industry charity that provides counselling and emergency relief services
The Unison Charity Golf “Almost” Classics took place at Montreal’s Beaconsfield Golf Club on September 20th, Toronto’s Lionhead Golf Club & Conference Centre on September 28th, and Vancouver’s Tsawwassen Springs Golf & Country Club on October 7th.
A total of $115,000 in funds were raised in support of The Unison Fund’s programs and opportunities for music workers across the country, including a generous donation match of $50,000 from The Slaight Family Foundation.
“Making preparations for the 2021 Golf Tournaments was a unique challenge due to Covid-19 restrictions, so a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors and the committees in each city, with the oversight of our Director of Golf Tournaments and Board Member, Brian Huston,” says Amanda Power, Executive Director of The Unison Fund. “Any cross-country initiative of this size requires the contribution of many generous people, and we appreciate every volunteer and gift made.”
Huston added that “The financial support of our corporate partners and friends like Gary Slaight provided an essential piece in reaching Unison’s fundraising goals for the year. We see familiar faces and generous donations from the industry, and for the industry year after year. On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are sincerely grateful for the support.”
