Summary From Luminate's 2022 Canadian Music Market Report

Overall, streaming continued to grow in 2022, with Canadian on-demand audio streams hitting the one 100B  mark for the first time in a single year (accomplished in late November). Physical sales continue to decline, including vinyl although the net dollars generated from the LP must certainly have spiked, with the average retail cost now hitting $36 in store-fronts and at online retailers. Below we have an assemblage of facts and figures provided to us by the entertainment data firm Luminate. Expanded detail can be had by downloading the US and/or Canadian year-end reports here.
