NXNE (pictured) returns to Toronto this summer, Aengus Finnan is stepping away from Folk Alliance International, and the TSO has a new CEO. Also in the news are the Winnipeg New Music Festival, Jadea Kelly, Forest City London Music Hall of Fame, The Dead South, Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar, Shannon Josdal and Maylee Todd, and farewell to Tyrone Gabriel, R. Dean Taylor, Jerry Crutchfield, Ralph Emery, Dallas Frazier, Jon Lind, and James Mtume.

As Executive Director of Folk Alliance International since 2014, the Canadian folk artist and administrator has brought significant change to the organization. In this interview, he discusses the event's return north in 2019 and his belief that folk music now is stronger than ever.
