After fronting Toronto rock bands, this popular Canadian music veteran switched to the business side, first in A&R, then marketing and promotion. The winner of Slaight Music’s prestigious songwriting and artist development competition has been crowned. Worth over $100K, the prize includes recording, distribution, radio promo, publicity, and marketing support via 2019 label partner Black Box Music.

The BC video and film director (pictured) took home the $15K Grand Prize in Toronto last night for his provocative clip for Belle Game's Low. Other winners were Johnny Jansen, Soleil Denault, Clairmont The Second, and Lacey Duke, while the evening showcased the serious creative talent working in Canadian music videos.
